Hostage situation underway at US hospital

Breaking: Police say a gunman has taken at least two people hostage at a hospital near Houston.

According to CBS News, a spokesperson for the Tomball Police Department could not confirm to the station how many people were being held at Tomball Regional Medical Center.

It is not immediately clear whether the man is armed. 

According to AP, the Harris County Sheriff's Office said Saturday night it us believed the man was a distraught parent of a patient. A supervisor at the county's emergency dispatch center said the situation was in the critical care unit and began around 7 p.m.

The hospital is on a 150-acre campus about 30 miles northwest of Houston.
