French police say a man who took two hostages at a post office in a suburb northwest of Paris has surrendered.

A man who holed up in a post office in a suburb northwest of Paris with two hostages has surrendered and been arrested, a police source says.

"There was no assault, the man gave himself up", the source said on Friday, adding that the hostages were "shocked but not injured".
