Australia's Curtis Luck has rocketed into contention in the Web.com Tour Championship following a six-under-par second round at the Atlantic Beach Country Club.

With only tournament leader Lucas Glover and Shawn Stefani shooting one better on Friday, Luck finds himself in a tie for sixth just four shots off the pace.

Compatriots Brett Drewitt and Cameron Davis are both five shots from American Glover, after shooting three and four-under second rounds respectively.

But it was not a good day for four-time PGA Tour winner Aaron Baddeley, who missed the cut by one shot.

Baddeley was 22nd on the finals money list going in and will likely fall short of earning his PGA Tour card.

Glover shot his second consecutive seven-under 64 to lead the tournament.

The 38-year-old, who won the 2009 US Open at Bethpage Black, needs a high finish this weekend to secure his card for the upcoming season. The last of his three PGA Tour victories was in 2011.

Glover earned $17,212 in the first three Web.com Tour Finals events. The top 25 money winners in the four-tournament series earn PGA Tour cards, and the final card went for $40,625 last year.

Glover is at 14-under 128. Denny McCarthy, who has already earned enough money to secure a return to the PGA Tour, was one shot back. Tour veteran Cameron Tringale, who has earned just $2,660 after missing two of the first three cuts, was 12 under after a 67.

The four-tournament series features the top 75 players from the Web.com regular-season money list, Nos. 126-200 in the PGA Tour's FedEx Cup standings, and non-members with enough money to have placed in the top 200.

The top 25 finishers on the Web.com regular-season money list are competing against each other for tour priority, with regular-season earnings counting in their totals.
