How badly is Virat Kohli struggling?

Virat Kohli is enduring what will be his worst-ever Test series with the bat unless the India skipper fires in one of his final three digs against Australia.

VIRAT KOHLI'S SLUMP IN THE ONGOING FOUR-TEST SERIES BETWEEN INDIA AND AUSTRALIA

* Kohli is averaging 9.20 from five innings. His lowest average in a completed Test series is 13.4 against England in 2014

* Kohli's lowest average in a home Test series is 30 against West Indies in 2013

* Kohli has faced 104 deliveries in the series. Australian skipper Steve Smith faced 361 in his first innings during the third Test

* Kohli has managed 46 runs in the series. Injured Australian allrounder Mitch Marsh (48) is among the many players to have outscored him

* Kohli has struggled against every member of Australia's attack. Mitchell Starc, Steve O'Keefe, Nathan Lyon, Josh Hazlewood and Pat Cummins have dismissed him once

* Kohli started the series as the No.2 ranked batsman in the world. He slipped to fourth following failures in Pune and Bangalore.
