A Microsoft tool that claims to be able to guess people's ages using facial-recognition technology has been laughed at over social media for its hilarious guesses.
Microsoft program How-Old.net asks users to enter a photo of themselves and then it generates a guess of their age.
But what could have been an ego boost proved demoralising for many who found themselves with ages guessed well beyond their years.
Many have used Twitter to laugh at the tool's shortcomings or berate Microsoft for its offensive guess.
"Apparently I'm a cougar!" tweeted Kate Scanlon, a young woman who had been given the age of 58, while the man next to her was supposedly 34.
But some were more than happy with the website's results.
