HSC results released at last

HSC results have been released to 70,000 anxious students across NSW with responses ranging from delight to despair.

More than 70,000 high school graduates across NSW are checking their Higher School Certificate results.

Students can receive their results via text, email or online from 6am on Wednesday.

NSW Education Minister Adrian Piccoli wished students the best for their future.

"For those who get a great mark, congratulations!" Mr Piccoli said.

"For those who put in the work and did not quite get what they expected, keep your chin up. The HSC is not the be-all and end-all."

Ecstatic students jumped onto social media to share their results.

"OMG I JUST GOT MY HSC RESULTS AND I DID SO MUCH BETTER THAN I EXPECTED," Monique (@dani_el_pez) wrote on Twitter.

"Just got my HSC results back & I absolutely killed it," wrote another Twitter user, Danni (@FriedDallass).

Other students were less than pleased.

"OK my HSC results aren't too bad but they weren't what I wanted," wrote @Jxstinxluke.

The HSC results will be used by the Board of Studies to determine ATAR rankings, which ranks students across the state against each other and helps universities select students for courses.

ATAR results will be released at 9am on Thursday.

The Board of Studies will be available by phone from 8am for students with questions about their results.
