Hull have taken their number of new Super League signings to seven with the capture of Jordan Rankin from NRL side the Gold Coast Titans on a two-year deal.

The 21-year-old playmaker will be a straight replacement for Daniel Holdsworth, who was released at the end of the 2013 season to enable him to return to the NRL with Cronulla.

Rankin, a former Australian Schoolboys captain, was signed on the recommendation of his new halfback partner, former Wests Tigers No.7 and ex-teammate Jacob Miller.

Rankin made his NRL debut at the age of 16 but went on to make just 17 further appearances.

"It's a big move from the Gold Coast but I'm looking forward to the opportunity and to the challenge of playing in the Super League," said Rankin said.

"We get the Super League over in Australia and I saw Hull reach the Challenge Cup final last year. Unfortunately, they got beat but they are one of the top teams in the competition and I wouldn't be going over there unless it was to a quality team with quality coaching and quality players around me.

"I spoke to the management and they were really keen to get me over there in the team and I've got a good mate in Jake playing over there too."

Rankin will line up alongside Mickey Paea, Iafeta Paleaaesina, Chris Tuson, Jordan Thompson, Tom Biggs and Fetuli Talanoa at the new-look Black and Whites.
