Australia's top law bodies and academics have thrown their support behind the president of the Human Rights Commission, who has faced criticism over a report into children in detention.
Government backbenchers have called for her resignation and threatened a parliamentary inquiry into alleged bias in her organisation.
Prime Minister Tony Abbott has called the report "blatantly partisan."
But the Australian Bar Association and the Law Council say criticism of, and personal attacks on, Gillian Triggs deflect attention from the very serious findings of the report .
Australian Bar Association president Fiona Mcleod has told Brianna Roberts the attacks are worrying.
