The government's reintroduced legislation to make under 25s wait a month for welfare have been criticised by a human rights parliamentary commitee.

Human rights concerns continue to dog the government's plans to withhold welfare from young people.

Parliament's human rights committee, chaired by Liberal MP Philip Ruddock, says the plan to make young people wait one month for the dole could limit their rights to equality.

However other committee members believed the measure would encourage young people to find work.
