About 300 people have been caught up in a violent street brawl in Queensland.

The huge fight broke out in Mount Isa in the state's north west in the early hours of Saturday morning.

The first officers on the scene had to call in extra support to deal with the massive brawl, as people fought and wrecked property.

Within the large crowd, smaller fights also broke out with participants allegedly brandishing bottles and star pickets.

Fifteen people have since been charged as a result of the "large street disturbance", police say.

They include a woman who's facing serious assault charges after allegedly head-butting a female police officer.

However, no one was seriously injured.

Investigations are continuing and more charges are expected to be laid.
