Hundreds rally against Perth Freight Link

Hundreds of people have rallied against the Perth Freight Link in Fremantle because of its impact on wetlands, residents and nearby businesses.

Hundreds of people have rallied in Fremantle to protest against the controversial $1.6 billion Perth Freight Link, Western Australia's first road toll.

The link is designed to take heavy vehicles off main roads in Perth's south, but there has been a public backlash with claims of poor planning as well as the impact on wetlands, residents and nearby businesses.

Transport Minister Dean Nalder told reporters in Perth on Sunday that he was comfortable the process was being done properly and the project was the right thing for WA.
