Hungry Wolves see off struggling Bulls

The Bradford Bulls' poor run in the English Super League has continued, with a 50-24 flogging by Huddersfield.

The Warrington Wolves have picked up their eighth consecutive win in all competitions, running in nine tries to see off the struggling Bradford Bulls 50-24.

Ben Harrrison, Ryan Atkins, Gareth O'Brien and Joel Monaghan all touched down in the first half for Wolves, with Brett Kearney replying for the visitors.

Meanwhile, Leeds Rhinos closed the gap on league leaders St Helens to a point thanks to Liam Sutcliffe's late penalty against Catalan Dragons.

Rhinos had been trailing 20-14 at the break and went further behind when former Newcastle Knights player Zeb Taia added his second of the afternoon.

But two tries from Joel Moon either side of Carl Ablett's score put the hosts 30-24 up.

The Dragons rallied when Sam Williams converted Daryl Millard's late try and went ahead through Morgan Escare's drop goal but Sutcliffe held his nerve at the death for the 32-31 win.

Sunday's other game saw Hull FC secure a 20-20 draw with Wakefield Wildcats after Joe Westerman sent over a last-minute conversion.

With the scores tied at 14-14 heading into the final stages, Wakefield's Nick Scruton crashed over on 72 minutes but Kirk Yeaman added a second with time almost up to force the levelling kick.

St Helens top the table thanks to their 16-12 victory over reigning Super League champions and derby rivals Wigan Warriors on Friday.

On Saturday, a last-minute try from New Zealander Jake Webster gave Castleford Tigers a 14-10 win over Salford Red Devils.

Saturday's other game saw London Broncos' winless run continue as Widnes Vikings recorded a 40-24 win.

On Thursday night, Craig Sandercock's Hulll KR came up just short against Huddersfield Giants.

With the scores tied at 16-16, Larne Patrick dotted down twice for the visitors who clung on for the 26-22 win.
