Police are searching for a driver after a woman was injured in an allegedly deliberate hit-and-run in Sydney's west.

A 40-year-old woman was run over in a car park on Antique Crescent, Woodcroft, about 7.30pm on Thursday, police say.

The woman, who was with a 35-year-old man, reportedly got into an argument with the driver of a charcoal-coloured Mazda CX7.

Police say the male driver then accelerated through the car park, hitting the woman and driving over her, and then fled.

"The attack was deliberate if not criminally reckless. The circumstances indicate that this was not an accident," Sergeant Wayne Kelly told Macquarie Radio on Friday.

The woman was taken to Westmead Hospital with a fractured pelvis.

Police are speaking to witnesses and urge anyone with information to come forward.
