Hurricanes make two changes against Rebels

Flanker Ardie Savea and prop Reggie Goodes are back in the Hurricanes' starting 15 for the Super Rugby match against the Melbourne Rebels.

The Hurricanes have reshuffled their pack for the Super Rugby match against Melbourne, with flanker Ardie Savea and prop Reggie Goodes returning to the starting 15.

Savea and Goodes have been promoted from the bench, swapping places with Jack Lam and Jeffery Toomaga-Allen.

Goodes' inclusion at loosehead for the Friday night clash in Melbourne means Ben Franks will shift to tighthead.

The rest of the run-on side will be unchanged from the one that began the 39-30 defeat to the Waratahs last Saturday night, provided lock Jeremy Thrush is cleared to play.

Thrush, who injured his neck against the Waratahs, has been bracketed with Blade Thomson.

If he is ruled out, loose forward Brad Shields will be added to the reserves.

Hurricanes: Andre Taylor, Cory Jane, Conrad Smith (captain), Alapati Leiua, Julian Savea, Beauden Barrett, TJ Perenara, Victor Vito, Ardie Savea, Faifili Levave, James Broadhurst, Jeremy Thrush/Blade Thomson, Ben Franks, Dane Coles, Reggie Goodes. Reserves: Motu Matu'u, Chris Eves, Jeffery Toomaga-Allen, Thomson/Brad Shields, Jack Lam, Billy Guyton, Tim Bateman, Matt Proctor.
