Hurricanes prop Goodes cited for charge

Prop Reggie Goodes must face the SANZAR judiciary for an incident during the Hurricanes' win over the Chiefs.

Hurricanes prop Reggie Goodes has been cited for a dangerous charge during his team's 22-18 Super Rugby win over the Chiefs.

The incident late in the first half of the game in Wellington on Saturday resulted in a season-ending knee medial ligament injury to Chiefs lock Michael Allardice.

A Chiefs statement said Allardice will need eight weeks to recover from the injury, ruling him out of the championship which ends in early July.

A SANZAR judicial statement said a player breaks the law if he charges into a ruck without using his arms or grasping another player.
