A Sydney man accused of murdering his wife on Halloween more than two years ago has again expressed his innocence over the crime.

Brian Bradbury was charged with murdering his wife Lynette, whose body was discovered with her hands and feet bound on October 31, 2011, in her Oatlands home, in Sydney's west.

Dressed in a black shirt, suit and tie, the 58-year-old briefly appeared at the Supreme Court in Sydney on Friday and formally entered a plea of not guilty to his wife's murder.

His barrister said the issue was "that he didn't do it" and that the Crown's case was circumstantial.

Bradbury was charged with the murder last year after a two-year investigation.

His arrest came months after he joined family members in issuing a tearful public plea for information on the circumstances of his wife's death.

Police allege Bradbury, a Westmead Hospital cleaner, was likely to have argued with his wife about his gambling addiction when she arrived home from work on the afternoon of her death.

It is alleged Bradbury staged a home invasion to conceal the murder.

Bradbury, who has always maintained his innocence, was supported in court by his family.

The murder trial is due to start in November and is estimated to run for six weeks.
