Hype DC founders resign from the helm

Hype DC founders Danny and Cindy Gilbert have resigned as the head of their sneakers business, new owner RCG Capital has announced.

The founders of trendy sneaker retailer Hype DC, Danny and Cindy Gilbert, have stepped down as co-chief executives after selling the business about eight months ago.

The couple, who founded the business in 1998, sold Hype for $105 million to The Athlete's Foot owner RCG Capital in August last year.

Mr Gilbert has agreed to remain as a non-executive director of RCG.
