A motorist who smashed into a parked car in the Sydney suburb of Newtown has allegedly left a note of apology that states "I am Asian and can't drive" along with a $6.25 Hungry Jacks voucher.

Reddit user "Ilyank" posted photographs of the note and the damaged car to the social news website today, lambasting the motorist for providing no personal details or offer of real compensation.

"So this happened Sunday…" he wrote. "Some mysterious a-hole smashes into [name removed]'s parked car in Newtown and leaves this charming, racist note and a $6.25 Hungry Jacks voucher.

“Needless to say they didn’t bother to leave any identifying information. Excess on damages = $625.”

"The two girls who witnessed it said 'They weren’t even Asian!'"

"Ilyank" said the witnesses of the alleged crash didn't write down the driver's number plate because they "assumed they were doing the honorable [sic] thing."

Reddit users have been quick to condemn the driver.

"The sad thing is that the bystanders would have helped had they known they weren't writing down details. Just an all around a-------e," wrote one.

"There should be HUGE fines if someone just leaves without leaving his details. Security cameras around?" wrote another.
