Carlton midfielder Bryce Gibbs has dismissed speculation he's seeking a return to his hometown of Adelaide.

Gibbs will become a restricted free agent at the end of the AFL season, and is believed to have been considering cashed-up offers from the league's two South Australian clubs.

The 25-year-old on Tuesday looked to rubbish the rumours, saying his preference would be to remain at Carlton and that he had informed the club as much.

"If it could be done tomorrow; it would be done tomorrow," Gibbs said.

"I'm settled in Melbourne.

"I've been here for eight years. I'm still under negotiations with the club.

"As far as I know, it is all going really well and really positive."

However, Gibbs said he was unaware if Adelaide, Port Adelaide or any other club had approached his management and started contract talks.
