Frozen roads have been shut around Hobart as drivers have been urged to use extreme caution in icy conditions.

Roads in the mountains and hills around Hobart were closed on Saturday morning, with drivers urged to use extreme caution.

The Midland Highway was reopened but drivers have been told to be careful of the frozen conditions.
