ICRC concern over rising violence in Afghanistan

The ICRC says escalating violence in Afghanistan last year has resulted in rising humanitarian needs.

The International Committee of the Red Cross says escalating violence in Afghanistan last year has resulted in rising humanitarian needs.

It warns that countless hardships, including large-scale indiscriminate attacks and difficulties in reaching health care for those affected, are among the grim realities facing the war-weary population.

Marek Resich is a spokesperson for the ICRC in Afghanistan.

He told Zara Zaher there are fears conditions could get even worse this year.
