Iddles new Vic police assoc secretary

Detective Senior Sergeant Ron Iddles, a 25-year veteran of the Victoria Police homicide squad, is the new secretary of the state's police union.

Veteran homicide detective Ron Iddles is the new secretary of Victoria's police union.

After 25 years at the homicide squad, Detective Senior Sergeant Iddles will replace Greg Davies as secretary of the Police Association in April.

The five-year appointment was decided on Tuesday, after legal action by a member of the executive over the appointment of a new secretary was discontinued.

Police Association president Phil Pearson said Det Sen Sgt Iddles will serve the union's 13,500-plus members well.
