Identified WWI diggers get new headstones

New headstones naming three Australian soldiers killed in action during World War I have been unveiled at a Belgian cemetery

Relatives of three diggers killed in World War I are in a Belgian cemetery to unveil new headstones. (AAP)

after volunteer researchers identified their graves.

Relatives of Privates Charles Eacott, Henry Huntsman and John Neilson attended a ceremony at Birr Cross Roads Cemetery near Ieper on Sunday to rededicate the headstones.

Their graves were identified by Dennis Frank and Andrew Pittaway of the volunteer group Fallen Diggers after researching newly digitised war records.
