Senior federal Labor MP Anthony Albanese predicts Prime Minister Tony Abbott will be out of job by Monday if the coalition loses the NSW election.

"If Mike Baird goes Tony Abbott will go," he told reporters in Canberra on Thursday.

Coalition governments in Victoria and Queensland have suffered first-term defeats in recent months, however opinion polls indicate that outcome isn't likely in NSW on Saturday.
