I'm sticking with Tony: Backbencher's pledge to PM

A Liberal backbencher has taken to social media to back Tony Abbott, who faces increasing pressure over his leadership.

NSW MP Craig Kelly posted his message of support on Facebook, saying he would support the Prime Minister, “even if he'd given a knighthood to Camilla”.

Posted late on Tuesday evening, the list titled “I'M STICKING WITH TONY” read as follows:

Mr Kelly’s post followed a call from his backbench colleague Dennis Jensen for Mr Abbott to step down, saying that the government's position was "untenable".

Federal Queensland MP Mal Brough also broke ranks overnight, telling media that Mr Abbott did not have his “unequivocal support”.
