Thousands of fans from Australia and Iraq braved the rain at the ANZ Stadium in Sydney, as the Socceroos secured victory for a place in the World Cup.


The game was goalless until substitute Josh Kennedy scored just seven minutes from time, leading to jubilant scenes on the pitch.


The 1-0 win secures the Socceroos a place in next year's World Cup in Brazil, and prompted huge celebrations for players and fans.



The day after, and more celebrations at the Customs House in Sydney, where the team signed autographs and posed for photos at a special victory event.
