Incredible video shows NSW home crashing to ground

Video footage has emerged showing a storm-damaged house in Sydney's northern beaches being demolished.

New video shows the moment a Sydney home collapsed to the ground after heavy rains and storms damaged the ground underneath it.

The home, in Sydney's northern beaches, was brought to the ground in a controlled demolition on Friday following days of storms in New South Wales.

The house was already going to be demolished but that date had to be brought forward after the storm-damage raised safety concerns.

The house was vacant and neighbouring houses had also been evacuated, Nine News reports. 

In order to bring the house down, fire crews pointed a high-pressure hose at the house's foundations and then continued to hose the structure once it had collapsed to reduce dust.
