Independent panel examining bungled census

The Australian Bureau of Statistics has appointed an independent panel to examine the quality of data collected in the bungled 2016 census.

The bungled 2016 online census will be examined by an independent panel to ensure the quality of the data collected.

The Australian Bureau of Statistics has appointed James Cook University vice chancellor Sandra Harding as chair of the panel, due to report back on March 31, 2017.

Former ABS head Dennis Trewin has also been appointed, along with Peter Morrison, who previously ran the Canadian census.
