India opener Shaw out for Test series

India's hopes of retaining the Border-Gavaskar trophy have taken a hit with young gun opener Prithvi Shaw ruled out for the rest of the Test series.

India have suffered a major injury blow during their tour of Australia with teenage batting prodigy Prithvi Shaw ruled out for the remainder of the Test series.

The tourists had been hoping to have Shaw, who missed the first two Tests with an ankle injury, available for the Boxing Day Test.

The 19-year-old has reportedly been replaced in India's squad by uncapped opener Mayank Agarwal.
