Indigenous football ambassador on mission to find new stars

For over a decade, Brisbane Roar defender Jade North has been one of the game's most recognisable faces. Now 32, the Football Federation Australia's Indigenous ambassador, is hoping to give something back, by discovering a new generation of stars.

In 2008 Jade North became the first indigenous footballer to captain the Socceroos.

In the same year, he also became the first to lead an Australian club side to domestic success, after Newcastle Jets won the A-League championship.

A proud indigenous Australian and FFA ambassador North is passionate about encouraging indigenous communities to play football.

Still in the midst of a ground breaking career, it appears there’s much more to come on and off the pitch for Jade North.
