An aspiring Indigenous model from the Victorian country town of Echuca is being touted as the next big thing in international modelling.
Aspiring model and proud Yorta Yorta woman Keyarny Lamb is juggling commitments in her local community with interest from around the world.
With little formal training, the modest 20-year-old told SBS she was at a loss to explain her success to date.
"I honestly don't see my potential and that's me," she said.
But modelling agent Stephen Bucknall, who "discovered" Keyarny last year, said the sky was the limit.
"The potential for her to go to the top is definitely there, 100 per cent," he said.
"She seriously can be an elite model."
Mr Bucknall’s agency, FRM Model Management, specialises in models from diverse backgrounds and helped launch the career of Ajak Deng, the Sudanese refugee now considered one of New York’s top catwalk earners.
He said Ms Lamb was well placed to emulate Ajak Deng, saying versatility and authenticity were her main modelling "assets."
For Ms Lamb, it would mean a move away from the community and family she loves, but she said she was determined to do her people proud.
"I'd feel like I'm not just carrying my two tribes but this is something that's for the whole of the Aboriginal...like, Aboriginal Australia."
"I'm very proud and very respectful of my Aboriginal culture. I'd like to carry it and showcase it where I can."
