Indonesian fishermen complain of Aussie actions

A group of Indonesians say they have been punished too harshly for allegedly entering Australian waters.

As Australia apologises for intrusion into Indonesian territorial waters, one group of Indonesians say they have been punished too harshly for allegedly entering Australian waters.

Dozens of Indonesian fishermen have served prison sentences in Australia and had their boats destroyed.

They say the Australian actions have had profound effects on their families and livelihoods.

SBS Indonesia correspondent Rebecca Henschke told Naomi Selveratnam, many insist they were in Indonesian waters when apprehended by Australian authorities.
