Three days in hospital, a State of Origin opener, a concussion, and a flight to Perth for another game of rugby league.

Welcome to Greg Inglis's world.

The South Sydney NRL superstar will arrive in Western Australia for Saturday's clash with Warriors ready to play his third game in 11 days, but a much-needed break has the fullback feeling good and ready to fire for the Rabbitohs.

Inglis was unable to finish Souths' 22-16 over Gold Coast last weekend, three days after climbing out of a hospital bed to play for Queensland at ANZ Stadium last Wednesday.

He was knocked out in the second half of the Rabbitohs' win after a heavy collision with Gold Coast big man Ryan James.

That came after Inglis had a severe bout of tonsillitis leading into the win over the Blues.

He admitted Origin was hard going.

"My energy pretty much got sapped out of me in the second half," he said.

"It was challenging and I'm just blessed that we got through and walked away with the win."

"I had a couple of days off to refresh. Obviously spending a couple of days in hospital and coming off the concussion last week, the club decided to give me a few days off, so it's refreshed my mind and body.

"I feel 100 per cent fit and ready to go."

Inglis started feeling ill at Origin camp and had no idea what was going on before he was diagnosed with tonsillitis and a throat infection.

"They decided to keep me in there for three nights," Inglis said.

"I lost a bit of weight. I think I lost about three or four kilos. I tried to eat but I couldn't eat, so I just tried to drink some fluids to get me back up."

Inglis denied speculation his knee was giving him trouble again.

"No, not at all. My body has been healthy and fine. Not carrying any injuries or anything. More just a little bit run down at times," he said.

The fullback said he doesn't want to sit out games and prefers taking time off at the start of the week.
