Injured Hazlewood to return to Australia

Injured Australian quick Josh Hazlewood will return from Australia's tour of Bangladesh after suffering a side strain during the first Test.

Josh Hazlewood will return home from Australia's tour of Bangladesh and miss next month's limited-overs tour of India after suffering a side strain during the first Test in Dhaka.

The durable fast bowler will fly back to Australia at the conclusion of the first Test but will bat if required when Australia resume at 2-109 on day four, requiring a further 156 runs to win.

Jackson Bird is expected to partner Pat Cummins for the second Test in Chittagong next week, with Hazlewood's replacement in the squad set to be named on Wednesday.

The Australian camp are confident Hazlewood will recover in time for the summer Ashes series, with the plan for him to play all three Sheffield Shield matches ahead of the opening Test.
