Injury no barrier to Martin's stage win

World individual time trial champion, German Tony Martin, has stamped his authority on the discipline by winning the event in stage 11 at the Tour de France.

Martin covered the 33-kilometre course in 36 minutes and 29 seconds.

The overall leader, Britain's Chris Froome, was second in the stage, posting a time just 12 seconds slower than Martin's.

Froome extended his overall lead over Spain's Alejandro Valverde during the stage though to three minutes and 25 seconds.

But S-B-S cycling commentator David McKenzie has told Murray Silby that Martin impressed for winning despite him still recovering from injuries received in a crash earlier in the Tour.
