A Perth coroner will hold an inquest into the death of multi-millionaire Craig Puddy, whose body is still missing after he was murdered by his employee Cameron Mansell.
Following an eight-week trial and two days of deliberations in late 2011, a West Australian Supreme Court jury found Mansell guilty of murdering Mr Puddy, 45, who was last seen at his $3.5 million Mt Pleasant home in May 2010.
Mansell, who was the manager at a bar part-owned by Mr Puddy, was sentenced to a minimum of 18 years in prison.
He denied killing his employer after he was confronted about stealing money from the bar safe.
The prosecution argued Mansell hit Mr Puddy on the head, put his body in a wheelie bin and disposed of it at an unknown location.
Mansell also tried to sell Mr Puddy's $750,000 boat, The Hoo Haa, to a consortium of investors, including high-profile sportsmen.
Police later found Mansell's burnt-out Jeep Cherokee in bushland with a key to Mr Puddy's home and a hammer.
A wheelie bin from Mr Puddy's home was also found in bushland in a national park near Two Rocks, north of Perth, and contained his blood as well as Mansell's fingerprint.
Mansell failed in his bid to appeal his conviction.
Newly appointed Perth coroner Ros Fogliani will hold a one-day inquest into Mr Puddy's death at the end of March.
