InvoCare's underlying first half earnings has increased eight per cent, driven by a rise in the number of funeral bookings in Australia and Singapore.
Comparable business operating earnings after tax, which exclude asset sales and undelivered prepaid contract impacts, rose to $21.0 million in the half year to June 30, from $19.4 million in the previous corresponding period.
Net profit fell 11 per cent to $18.457 million from $20.8 million, mainly because of the costs associated with Invocare's acquisitions in the United States.
InvoCare, which owns White Lady Funerals and Simplicity Funerals, said funeral case volumes were 2.5 per cent higher than in the first half, with its Australian and Singapore operations recording strong growth.
