INXS songs jump 600 per cent on Spotify

Music streaming website Spotify says there's been a rush on INXS songs after a much anticipated telemovie about the rock group went to air.

The TV mini series INXS: Never Tear Us Apart has revved up interest in the Aussie rock band's music, with Spotify streams up by 600 per cent.

Channel Seven's two-part telemovie was the number one show on Sunday night with 1.947 million viewers.

That same night, INXS moved into the top five most streamed artists in Australia, according to digital music service Spotify.

The group was fourth behind Lorde, Eminem and Arctic Monkeys, up 596 per cent from the previous Sunday.

The most popular INXS tracks were Never Tear Us Apart, Need You Tonight, Mystify, New Sensation, and Suicide Blonde.

The mini series' second instalment goes to air on February 16.
