India has been welcomed back into the Olympic family after the International Olympic Committee revoked its 14-month ban over a corruption scandal.

The IOC suspended the Indian Olympic Association for allowing officials facing corruption charges to contest elections in 2012, saying it went against the Olympic charter.

The decision comes two days after the association held elections in accordance with IOC directions.

The three Indian athletes at the Sochi Winter Games can now compete under their national flag, after previously marching under the neutral Olympic flag at the Games' opening ceremony.

The director of the Australia India Institute, Professor Amitabh Mattoo, told Darren Mara the original ban was felt right across one of the world's biggest sporting markets.
