IS celebrates terror attack in Australia

The latest issue of Islamic State's glossy propaganda magazine carries a call for supporters to continue to target western country "crusaders".

Islamic State has celebrated attacks in Australia and other Western countries, and called for a continuation of its campaign of "terror" in the latest issue of its propaganda magazine.

In the seventh issue of its glossy propaganda magazine, Dabiq, a spokesman for the terror group calls on "muwahhidin" in Europe and the West to "target the crusaders in their own lands and wherever they are found".

"Indeed, you saw what a single Muslim did with Canada and its parliament of shirk (sic), and what our brothers in France, Australia and Belgium did - may Allah have mercy upon them all and reward them with good on behalf of Islam," the spokesman says.

"And there were many others who killed, ran others over, threatened, frightened and terrorised people, to the extent that we saw the crusader armies deployed on the streets in Australia, Canada, France, Belgium and other strongholds of the cross to whom we promise - by Allah's permission - a continuation of their state of alert, terror, fear, and loss of security."

Under Islam, shirk refers to the sin of idolatry.

The magazine also published pictures of Haruna Yukawa and Kenji Goto, two Japanese nationals killed by the group.

Mr Yukawa is pictured with a knife to his throat.

There are also photos of Jordanian pilot Muath al-Kaseasbeh being burnt alive inside a metal cage.
