Israeli march in East Jerusalem sparks clashes

Thousands of Israelis have marched through East Jerusalem's Muslim quarter to mark what's known to the Jews as 'Jerusalem Day', sparking clashes.

Violence has broken out between Israelis and Palestinians during demonstrations in occupied East Jerusalem.

Thousands of Israelis were marching through the Old City's Muslim quarter to mark what's known to the Jews as 'Jerusalem Day'.

It commemorates Israel's capture of the Arab eastern part of the city in the Six Day War of 1967, and often experiences unrest.
