Orica-GreenEDGE have continued their winning streak with Swiss cyclist Michael Albasini claiming the Tre Valli Varesine one-day race in Italy ahead of next week's world championships in Spain.
Albasini is just the tenth international winner of the event, dominated over the 94 editions by Italians.
His win follows the Australian outfit's triumphs in Canada; the first at the Tour of Alberta with South African Daryl Impey and then the Quebec and Montreal double by Australian road champion Simon Gerrans.
"I'm super happy to win one of these important and well-respected Italian one-day races - and on top of that, the closest one to our base," Albasini said of the proximity to the team's Italian headquarters, just outside the city of Varese.
