Italy's The Great Beauty (La Grande Bellezza) has won the best foreign language film Oscar at the 86th Academy Awards.
The film by director Paolo Sorrentino beat Belgium's The Broken Circle Breakdown, Denmark's The Hunt, Cambodia's The Missing Picture and Omar from Palestine.
Hailed as an ode to Federico Fellini's 1960 film La Dolce Vita, The Great Beauty follows Jep Gambardella, who at age 65 begins to re-examine the luxuriant life he's led in Rome.
