Canterbury second-rower Josh Jackson will fight to get his dangerous throw charge downgraded at the NRL judiciary on Wednesday night in a bid to play in the State of Origin decider in Brisbane.

Jackson was slapped with a grade-two dangerous throw on Penrith playmaker Jamie Soward in the first half of their win over Penrith on Saturday night.

If successful, the NSW forward will miss the Bulldogs' clash with Melbourne on Monday night but be available for selection when Blues coach Laurie Daley names his team next Tuesday for Origin III on July 8.

The Bulldogs have also indicated lock Greg Eastwood has taken the early guilty plea for his part in the tackle, freeing him to take on the Storm.

However, Newcastle prop Kade Snowden will miss his side's meeting with Brisbane on Friday after taking a one-match ban for a careless high tackle on Cronulla's Matt Prior last Sunday.

Teammate Tariq Sims will take his place in the line-up after taking the early guilty plea for a similar offence on Luke Lewis in the same game, while Brisbane centre Jack Reed also took the 75 points from his dangerous contact to the head of Melbourne's Cameron Munster.

Sims would be a contender for Jackson's spot in the NSW team should Jackson lose his case and be suspended for three games.

Meanwhile, St George-Illawarra hooker Mitch Rein has until midday on Wednesday to decide whether he'll contest a dangerous throw charge on Sydney Roosters second-rower Boyd Cordner.

Due to loading from a previous offence, Rein will miss a week unless he fights the charge and wins.

The Dragons next take on Parramatta on Saturday night.
