Western Force centre Ben Jacobs announced he's leaving the Super Rugby club to rejoin London Wasps.

Western Force centre Ben Jacobs has announced he's leaving the Super Rugby club to rejoin English club London Wasps.

The 31-year-old was only elevated to the senior Force squad midway through this season following a host of backline injuries and went on to play in the last six games as the Perth-based club finished 13th on the ladder.

Jacobs first joined Wasps in 2009 and made 57 appearances over two years before signing with Japanese side Kyuden Voltex.

The former Waratahs and Australia A midfielder was signed by Wasps after their Welsh centre, Lee Thomas, was forced to retire because of an Achilles injury.

"Ben's experience will be a big asset for us this season," said Wasps' director of rugby Dai Young.

"Ben will come into that midfield mix and do a very good job for us.

"He knows the club inside out and was very keen to come back here so we're looking forward to him joining up with us again."
