Adelaide defender Matthew Jaensch has signed a fresh two-year contract with the AFL club.

The 24-year-old has played every match this year, averaging 21 disposals a game, and credits greater fitness for his breakout season.

"I have always worked hard but this season I have strived to achieve a new level of fitness," he said in a statement on Wednesday.

Jaensch joins teammates David Mackay, Ricky Henderson and Charlie Cameron in re-commiting to the Crows in the past month.
