Jaguares win to close in on Super finals

The Jaguares continued their surge towards a maiden Super Rugby finals campaign with a 25-14 win over the Stormers.

The Jaguares continued their superb Super Rugby form with a 25-14 victory over the visiting Stormers, extending their winning streak to seven games.

The month-long international break did nothing to halt the Argentina-based side's momentum as they improved their win-loss record to 9-5.

Their win with three tries to two in Buenos Aires boosted their hopes of a maiden finals spot, which they will go looking for in South Africa against the Bulls and Sharks over the next two weekends.

They trail the Lions, who have played one game more, by just three points for the South African conference lead.

Tries by winger Bautista Delguy and lock Guido Petti helped the Jaguares to a 15-0 lead nd centre Matias Orlando went over in the second half.

Sikhumbuzo Notshe and fullback Dillyn Leyds scored the tries for South Africa's Stormers.

The Jaguares' best season in the competition has been rewarded with a marked increase in home crowds at Velez Sarsfield where 18,000 watched Saturday's win.
