Jamaican sprinter Nesta Carter has pulled out of the IAAF meet in Lucerne because of a thigh injury.

Jamaican sprinter Nesta Carter, the second fastest man over 100m this year, pulled out of Wednesday's meet in the Swiss city of Lucerne because of a thigh injury, organisers said.

Carter was a member of Jamaica's 4x100m relay gold medal winning team at the 2012 Olympics.

Last Saturday, he clocked 9.87sec in Madrid, the second fastest time over 100m this year behind the 9.75sec of America's Tyson Gay.

Gay has since failed a drugs test as has Carter's compatriot Asafa Powell, the former world record holder.

Fellow Jamaican, Yohan Blake, the defending world champion, has already pulled out of next month's world championships in Moscow with a hamstring injury.
