Injured midfielder Mile Jedinak is set to miss the Socceroos' farewell friendly against South Africa in Sydney on May 26 but the incumbent skipper is confident he'll be fit for the World Cup.
Jedinak expects to be sidelined for up to three weeks with a groin injury, suffered in Crystal Palace's final match of the English Premier League season against Fulham on Sunday.
"It's a little bit sore and it's going to mean I miss a couple of weeks or so, but I just got the scan results back and honestly the news is probably as good as I could have hoped for," the 29-year-old told News Corp Australia.
"The doctors say I'm looking at two to three weeks, so I have to concentrate now on doing everything in my power to be ready in that timeframe."
Jedinak is due to be named in coach Ange Postecoglou's 30-man preliminary squad for the World Cup on Wednesday, but is likely to delay his trip back home to join the Socceroos' pre-tournament training camp - which starts on Thursday.
"I'm definitely coming back to Australia at some point in the next couple of weeks, the club and the national team staff are just working out the details now of exactly what the rehab will be," he said.
Australia kick off their World Cup campaign against Chile on June 13 in Cuiaba.
