Jennifer Lawrence plans year-long hiatus

Movie mogul Harvey Weinstein says 23-year-old actress Jennifer Lawrence is planning to take a year-long break after the upcoming Oscar awards.

Oscar winner Jennifer Lawrence is to take a year-long hiatus from Hollywood, according to movie mogul Harvey Weinstein.

The 23-year-old actress has enjoyed stellar success over the last few years, starring in blockbuster franchises such as The Hunger Games and X-Men movies. She won her first Oscar in 2013 for Silver Linings Playbook, and is up for another Oscar at this year's Academy Awards for American Hustle.

But Weinstein has now revealed the young actress is planning to step out of the spotlight for a year once she completes all her work commitments.

He tells Britain's The Sun on Sunday, "She's going to have a long break for a year where she won't do anything."

"It's been non-stop for her and she deserves a rest... Jennifer is too nice and will do people favours and agrees to do a movie like American Hustle when she could have had a rest." Weinstein said.
